Issue One — Metamorphosis
Most people live their entire lives inside a constructed interior — news feeds, shopping centres, entertainment cycles, the ambient noise of what society has decided is worth paying attention to. It is a remarkably complete environment. You can spend decades inside it without ever really leaving.
Meanwhile, outside that interior, a planet is running.
A planet with eight million species solving the problem of existence in forms so precisely engineered, so visually extraordinary, that encountering them honestly produces something close to vertigo. The face of a mantis seen up close looks like nothing that should exist. And yet it does, right now, on the same planet you are on.
This is the first issue of Spinfinity.Art.
Its theme is metamorphosis — not as a metaphor, but as a description of what actually happens when a person wakes up to where they are. Born into a story, assigned a role, handed a script. Most people perform it. Some, at some point, notice the script. That noticing is the beginning of something.
What follows — designing a life rather than inheriting one, understanding what you actually want rather than what you were told to want, encountering love not as a romantic transaction but as something the universe itself seems structured around — is the territory this issue moves through.
The creatures are here too. Not as illustration. As parallel. Metamorphosis is, after all, what they have always done.
Welcome to the first spin.
